Five Point Plan: Today

Five Point Plan for Today:

1. Take a walk outside - it's nice out today
2. Get some ice cream in your system - I suggest Lics off memorial drive
3. Take a nice long nap - gear up for the weekend
4. Take another nap - it's been a long summer you need your rest
5. Discover Billy Joel

Something's New

I've decided to add a couple things to the blog.

For starters I think Ill add a daily, weekly, and monthly five point plan. Which will serve the purpose of suggesting something to do or achieve during the day, week or month. The daily one will be good for me cause it'll give me a reason to blog everyday.

Secondly I will add a side bar to some of my entries to just fill you in on my mood and current happenings in my life. Just as a small journalesque kind of entry. I usually like to start my entries with quotes (it was supposed to be a gimmick, but I decided to not do it on every post) so sometimes the side bar will just be a quote.

Just thought I'd let you guys know.

Left Foot....Right Foot....Left Foot...

'Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?''

That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat.

'I don't much care where --' said Alice.

'Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.

'--so long as I get somewhere,' Alice added as an explanation.

'Oh, you're sure to do that,' said the Cat, 'if you only walk long enough.'

You never really need to know where you're going. As long as you end up somewhere. I suppose it's especially needless to think about you're destination when you either:

A) Don't care where you end up

or

B) Have no idea where exactly you're headed

Is it safe to assume that the majority - if not all - of us really have no real destination ahead? I mean there are only two certainties in life one of them is the final destination, death. The other certainty is uncertainty, if you expect anything in life then expect to be surprised. Expect the unexpected.

No one knows where they'll end up; besides in a grave. So if you find life passing you by with no real place to end up, you might as well enjoy the sights and enjoy the ride. Or you know, you could always just stop to smell the roses.

Puke: Nike Quilted Patent Pack

Yikes, a little too much on the patent leather here it's a little too shiny for my tastes. Wow Nike is sure coming out with a lot of Olympic packs, and most of them are done in poor taste. Stay tuned for more on those packs later. But seriously all they're trying to do is capitalize on the buzz the Olympics are generating and I know there are hypebeasts out there eating it all up. I guess the only positive is that these shoes are quilted....which makes them more absorbent than the leading kitten brand! (Knawmeen? Probably not)

If You're Not First, You're Last

Numero Uno, the winner. If you ain't first then you're last baby! You were a winner once. You we're first once before. You beat millions and millions of other sperm cells to be the person you are today. So wasn't that enough? Why is it nowadays first is never good enough. I remember the good old days when everyone wanted to be first the first to do this. The first to wear this. They wanted to set the trend. Now setting trends aren't good enough, it is no longer satisfying to say that you were the leader and the rest followed. We've moved on from being the first to being the only.

How many times do you hear people say it? "Maaaaaan I used to do that, until everyone else started it." Get over your uppity self, you didn't start it and you're sure as hell not going to be the only one to do it. If there's anything worse than wannabes then it is the Havtobe's. New restaurant in town? They have to be first. New clothing store? They have to be the first to shop there. New movie showing? They have to be the first to see it. Then as soon as they are done with it, it's a thing of the past. It's all in the past, it becomes so yesterday.

As soon as a have to be is through with supposedly starting a (non-trend) trend they move on to the next thing to satisfy them. With claims that what they allegedly started is no longer cool because other people are doing it. It's so chic nowadays to be you're own individualistic and ideal self; which you need to remaster every time someone else becomes remotely like you. We've taken expression of self past it's logical state and turned it into a contest. Who can be the most different for the longest? Forget finding your bliss and being someone you love to be. Be different, be different all the time. Don't be who you were yesterday, cause seriously...that's so yesterday.

Well now I dare to be different, by being me, and I am not going to change. How ironic the world has become, in order to be different....you just have to be the same. It's a sad social commentary on the downward spiral society is facing.

Another life lesson brought to you by the good folks here at the FPOE
