Too Much Of A Good Thing?

Maybe it's becasue I put up record numbers.
Maybe becasue I have almost 90 posts this month.
Maybe it was because I am almost at my total outage for all of last year.
Maybe it's because I amassed almost 3000 hits this month alone.

I don't know what it is, maybe I'm a little burnt out. Or maybe I've just hit a mental wall.
Whatever the case, I thank you all for the support....

But let’s not stray from what I came to say
To my beloved, think we need some time away
They say if you love it, you should let it out its cage
And fuck it, if it comes back you know it’s there to stay
It’s tugging, at my heart, but this time apart is needed

Maybe Ill take a little break, maybe I won't only time will tell. It's hard to stay away from something you love and something you've created. It's hard to try to reach new heights and just quit when what you're trying to do seems so attainable. We'll see what the happenings is, and what happens next will be a surprise to all of us. All I know is that what I did this month with this blog took a lot of work and took a lot out of me.

So I pose the question, is it better to burn out or just fade away?

Why Francis is a Woman.

lol just kidding buddy -- but you really need to start making your outfits the night before. hahahahaha

8 am

I have a problem this morning.

WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR?! I've changed maybe 5 times now.
Too many shirts, Too many jackets, Too many vests, the shoes....omg I don't even have that many but it's too much to choose from.

The only thing I am settled on are my jeans, and I'm not completely sold on those yet.

And I am going out tonight, wardrobe change?

It's not a sin to have this much clothes, nor to love it this much. I could change 3 times a day and have enough outfits to last the week.

Omg I'm gonna be late for class, now that's a sin.

A Day Late, I Apologize.

HAPPY (BELATED) BIRTHDAY SAM!

OK OK OK , this is a day late and I am sorry. Let's not forget who got you the guest list, and I did text you yesterday! I am righteous.

Happy 20 years my friend.

Parking Lot "Pimpin"

Why is it that parking lot design has become so pedestrian? Just because it's purpose is to house our cars temporarily doesn't mean it shouldn't be pleasing to the eyes.

I personally have never been one to question why they're so drab and blah until now. Life is meant to be rethought and redone. And even though it is absolutely useless, why not?

more pics here.

Wow. No.

Not Feelin' these. I just think when you get solid gold shoes it's way too girly.

This is how not to do a metallic shoe.

Puma and UNDFTD team up to come up with this shit stain.

rock oldskool chains, eskimo way...

Yes that's a knitted scarf and HELL yes would Run DMC be proud. Being from Canada, I know anything keeping us warm would help and thank God for scarves and accessories for being the coolest things on earth. Yokoo takes a chillen idea like the old skool weaved gold chain and hybrids it into a dope ass (not to meantion cheaper at approx. $60 USD) scarf to wrap around your neck. Nothing looks fresher than a girl in some sick kicks and sweet accessories to match. I'd hate to be corny but you look cool -- and stay warm at the same time LOL.

Not too sure how it'd look on guys but copp it here and comment some pictures of you rockin' it.

Nike Perforated Dunk High

Not Floored, not wowed. Decent shoes, very reminiscent of 08's DQM Dunks, but all in all I'd Steve Nash and pass on these.

Pic was jacked off of Providermag

Nike RT1 High

The Yeezy's are never gonna drop, but the RT1 is here to hold us down. One of the 6 inspiration shoes and this one is nutty off the chain. I'm really feeling everything about this. It is supremely high but I am feelin that, the color way, I'm feelin that. The light blue/teal tint on the back of the tongue, I'm feeling that. The (what looks like) elephant maybe cement on the heel, I am feelin that. Needless to say I am really feelin this shoe. The first Must Cop of the year is here ladies and gents. I thought the Twighlights previously posted would be impossible to top for Jan. I was wrong.

This shoe is certified fresh. Man I'm defs coppin' a pair especiall at 95USD.

Oh and this pic was swagger jacked off nice kicks.

It Was All A Dream

I used to read word up Magazine
Salt n Pepa and Heavy D in the Limousine.

Crooks has a couple No No No, Notorious shirts to commemorate the movie that just dropped. The shirts are Illmatic.

Cop em here

My Favourite Thing...

poop.

AJ1 InfraBred

Nike is coming out with a brand new AJ 1 mid February. Their latest project is a(nother) re-working of the shoe that started it all. This time they're kicking up the red to a more luminous infrared.

The results are a shoe that really brings out with infrared. It's bold and bright but at the same time the shoe shyly just plays into itself. The black just helps to accent the infrared; this'll be sure to turn heads.

Urban Kaleidoscope

Photographer Kazuhiko Kawahara craftily blends the black hole and the kaleidescop with this photograph.

I can't help but feel like I am falling as I look at this photo; it sucks me in and I can't get out. It reminds me of something enver ending, as if you could fall into this photo and never hit the bottom.

Don't You Hate That Feeling When...

...you're studying but no matter how much you do it always feels like it wasn't enough. Or when you set out some time to study yet you don't get as much done as you had hoped for?

Is it better to give it 10% all of the time or 100% some of the time?

I'd rather pick up small gains to make the first down rather than having to go deep on 4th and 10 to make the first down. Wouldn't you?

More TB

Just to keep you all updated on the Lupe / Teriyaki Boyz front. Verbal and Lupe combine they steez to bring some real fiyah.

I hope this joint get's released sometime soon. I can't find the .mp3 for it ANYWHERE! what thee fuck.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Steven Alan floral skinny tie.

Floral patterns are supposed to be huge this spring, not exactly groundbreaking. But it's supposed to come to the fore front in a big way. I am curious to see what creative re-inventions we are in store for.

IT'S GAME OVER - TERIYA-KINGS IN THE BULDING!

Kanye West and The Teriyaki Boyz hook up for this wonderfully magnificent collabo.

Certified Fresh. Keep Kay Dub away from the autotune and he's got my vote

Throw Up Your Set!

Thug tech at it's finest. IMM Living's east/west creations now bring the rivalry to the electronic frontier. These USB flash drives move the gang wars from the streets into a local coffee shop near you. Mac users and PC users finally have a means to throw up their specific gang signs. Just make sure you don't walk into the wrong coffee shop with whatever clique you claim.

On another note:

Even though they come in red and blue I don't believe they're molded in actual blood or crip gang signs. I wouldn't imagine they would have clearance to do that.

David Hart Bow Ties

Some super fly dope Scottish Tartan bow ties are being released by David Hart via his website. These silly things evoque a great sense of play into any wardrobe.

Personally I feel these pieces seem quite out of the ordinary and outlandish, I don't believe are hard to pull off. The bowtie is very neutral and could be paired with just about any collared shirt you already own. The hardest thing about wearing this though I would say is the confidence it must be worn with. If you don't feel you look good chances are you'll come off really uncomfortable. When really these bow ties are a great and easy way to spice up an outfit for those who think they're not "creative" enough to do so.

Neck Face - Voice of the American Populace

Open Letter to Obama

It may not be intentional, then again it may, but these words pack a whole lot of punch.

The word change and dollars here just pack a whollop. Barack Obama - "Change" we can believe in; the platform the the election was won with. But here there is a double entendre, change could be interpreted as nickles and dimes. According to Neck Face, change (nickles and dimes) aren't needed just the benjamins.

Kanye West x LV Official Pics

We've all been hearing the hype around this line. It's supposed to be bananas. I like LV I'd fuck with it, if I ever felt the need to forgo practicality in its entirety and indulge.

I digress, the shoes are a nice monochromatic crimson. Very subtle with the LV on the tongue and the monogram on the sole. If it weren't so monochromatic I would fucks with these, and if it wasn't priced so ridcolously. They come in a beige as well. No official word on price yet.

I'm surprised I got the jump on these; I guess my competition isn't as big as I thought.

Here's there Press release on these bad boys:

PARIS — Marc Jacobs and the Louis Vuitton men’s studio director Paul Helbers have some design competition this season. Kanye West, who was sitting front row at the Vuitton show, has designed a line of five LV sneakers. Only one design, above, was featured in the show — a monochromatic midtop with no frills, save for a quilted flap in the back, all the easier to tuck pants into. “The inspiration came from a jacket with a huge collar in the movie ‘Dune,’ ” West says. “Most sneakers focus on the tongue, so I wanted to do something different.” West knows whereof he speaks: he says he has no idea how many shoes he owns, but he does know that he routinely needs to send shipments off to storage. The LV-meets-Kanye kicks will be available at Louis Vuitton stores in June.

Nike Dunk High - Woven

Nike is no stranger to woven shoes remember the Nike Air Footscapes? Nasty ass woven AM360 looking son bitches.

Well Nike got it right this time, the weaving gives it a classic almost tweed/houndstooth allure to it. And all the contrasting shades of white and off white help in delivering a more sophisticated woven shoe.

Not too sure how waterproof these are though haha. On sale April first via Nike Sportswear, supposed to be quite limited. Let the hype begin?!

I assure you it's a jpeg

I swear this is not a gif file. This is a jpeg.

It is the cover art for the new Animal Collective LP entitled Merriweather Post Pavillion.

An Artsy Kick-back to a Favourite Toy

Remember these? I remember scrounging around a toy box looking for a bunch of these film disks -- only to get bored of those 14 pictures. Even though you knew there wouldn't be anymore, your childhood hope kept you going around and around, pushing down the orange lever, so maybe, somehow you'd see something different (or in my case, hoping magically an image of a naked woman will pop up). Then eventually you get bored and switch it up or just pretend you're James Bond and your using some high tech binoculars. And for sure, at one point in my life -- I'd find one of these picture reels and spend a half an hour trying to find the view master because my curiosity would kill me wondering what is on those little plastic sheets.

Although I've never had the chance to peer into one of these toys in ages, or even seen one in front of me for just as long. I still felt this huge abundance of that nostalgic viewmaster curiosity when i came across a California based fashion boutique website. Bona Drag (literally means Nice Outfit in a secret UK based gay culture slang from the 60's) sells a variety of provocative, unique and interesting jewellery and flair (e.g. snake vertebrae necklace) and few select clothing pieces for women, but what caught me off guard the most was their Old-School 3D viewmaster with a collection of hand made 3D picture reels designed, written and photographed by an artist that goes by the name of Vladimir. All I could really say is... I really need to get my hands on one of these Vladmasters because it's killing me not knowing what the hell these lucky bastards are looking at.
**EDIT In the picture above, this was a showcase of Vladimir's work. Such a cool, inventive way for an art showcase, and it saves all the people from the fear in someone who has studied art their entire life to make them feel like shit because you could just say, "oh i'm on a different picture" or if you wanna be a real dick... walk away and "try to get more light" without answering hahaha

Take It From Me: He's Just Not That Into You

There is simply no other way to put it, he's just not that into you. It's hard for girls to really wrap their heads around that. It's a simple fact, if he doesn't call you and seems uninterested in your conversation and what you have to say; chances are he isn't even interested in you. But does that really come as a surprise to you girls? How many times do you find yourself saying that you wish he'd try harder, you wish he'd make more of an effort. You call him more than he calls you, you ask him to go do something more often than he asks you. Now you can kid yourself and say that this is because he's just one of those guys, you know he's just acting as a typical guy would. Well that's true, all guys act in a "typical" way. We all have our genetic predispositions. We don't seek your approval, we don't do things out of our way for your own personal enjoyment. As men we are territorial by nature, I still pee on my bed just to let people know whose it is. This territory is not to be infringed upon by anyone, especially someone without a pair of testicles. It's hard to give up the space that we feel we have fought so dearly for, the space that we carved for ourselves without you. So to let you just waltz in and take that space is not something we'll do lightly.

But back to my point, he's just not that into you. Well you could just say he's being a guy, he's just acting how he's expected to act. I have some news for you, it's an act. Guys act that way just to act that way. I have this theory that deep down everyone is a head in the cloud romantic, and we all just have different levels of realization. And most people can never cope with high levels of realization. See even though a guy says he wants to be independent and he wants his space to be his space. It isn't completely true, and even though we want our space, we would really like to share it with someone. To let our guards down and let someone in to share something personal is something we both long for and shy away from. It takes a special kind of girl to get a guy to open up, and it takes times. It's an uneasy feeling, sharing is. But you know what when you find that right person it's easy. Everything is surmountable and it doesn't matter how we used to be in the past. So if you don't give him that easy feeling, well he's not going to be that interested. Chances are if you feel that he's even just slightly not that into you; well then he's definately not that into you. If you're thinking it, he definately knows it.

Take it from Me.

Clever Ad

Bus ads are cooler all over the world than in Calgary. I mean seriously how many realtors are there in Calgary? And must you all take out ads on the bus benches? It's hard to trust a guy whose ad has been defecated by all the asses on top of it.

Lil Bro Breezy

Haha! We go way back.

Welcome Breezy.

The Newest Member

Brrrr-aymond. He's ice cold. That's why his name is so chilly. He'll be blogging on the FPOE as we now since Mar and J-PHKR no longer post. I can't tell you what he'll post about, how often or when he'll start just that he's gonna.

So look out!

New Stussy Shirts

New Stussy (name rhymes with Uzi; don't argue with me on this) courtesy of Stussy Japan. Some new lined pocket denim as well. The shirts are certified fresh!

peep it here

Port Authority

Antwerp's Port Authority building. It's a very unique design and it's very obvious what this building is for.

In selecting the architect an open call was made and a shortlist of five firms were chosen:
Consortium of TV A2O Architecten / Atelier Kempe Thill / Marcq & Roba / BEG from Hassel, Belgium
Vier Arquitectos from La Coruña, Spain
Xaveer De Geyter Architects from Brussels
Zaha Hadid Architects from London
Rapp + Rapp from Rotterdam.

The Zaha Adid firm was ultimately chosen to design the building.

The Barack Berry

It pays to be the Prez. So in case you didn't know, for national security measures the President is not really allowed to use electronics in an attempt to stop the proliferation of sensitive information. So emails are frowned upon, which is understandable. I'm sure you've all been victim or seen someone be victimized by an ill advised sending of an email around the office. It's an even bigger no no in the Oval (office). Obama is a self-confessed BBM addict so to get around the he is getting a special 3500$ BB that is totally hack and spy proof. Dayum it pays to be the Prez. Check out the full story on CNN.

The 175 Million Party

I tuned into the Barack Obama inauguration just like millions of other people this past Tuesday, however I came across something very interesting. Apparently the inauguration ceremony cost about 175 million tax paying dollars. Now I know the occasion is greatly momentus however how do you justify spending 175 million dollars when you're in what some economists call the worst economic crisis ever? Yes Obama does deserve a ceremony on par with the President-Elects of the past, but not when this kind of money could be used to help stimulate a now stagnant economy.

I think the world is too caught up in Obama fever to see things how they really are. He's supposed to rush in this big new thing called change, it's what his platform was built upon. But people are going to have to start holding him accountable for his action, not saying that the inauguration budget is his fault. But for change to really happen, we can't just blindly believe in someone and hope they pull through. He's supposed to be your voice America, if you don't let him speak for you he'll just speak for himself. That means he'll bring about change alright, change that you'll believe less and less in everyday.

I wish nothing but good luck and good tidings to 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama.

Twilight 2 - The Colorway Sequel

I thought the first colorway was nutty.

This one is OFF THE CHAIN! Wowzers I'm feelin it.

available at the same place.

All Gone - Don't Sleep On This

The third edition of the MJC encyclopedia is out. Documenting the good the bad and the ugly of 2008. I've seen bits and pieces of the first 2 releases from previous years and it really is an interesting read. If you're into the LS culture and streetwear style it should entertain you. And it makes a great coffee table book. Its fully loaded!

Cop it here.

My apologies in advance if you don't know French.

This book is certified Fresh.

Nike Twilight Runner

I be lovin it, I be I be lovin it. I'm not a huge fan of hybrids but these are nutty as hell. The Air Stabs/Pegasus/Structure all rolled up into one. I was sad when they said they were discontinuing the Air Stabs, but these remind me of them so much it doesn't matter. I dub these the Air Stab 2.0; a great improvement on the 1.0's for real.

The lower reminds me of the AM 90's without the air bubble and the toe just screams Air Stab. I'm really likin this hybrid and the colorway is certified fresh.

cop it at Size?

Ninjas Use Bulleting Boards Too!

A clever way to hang up papers and what nots on your personal corkboard. Designed by Jonathan Sabine and Adam Pickard the creative minds behind Chromoly; makers of fine products such as the Ninja Tacks.

Available here for only 12 dollars a pop.

Isn't that ever bad ass

For Those Long Walks in the Cold

Just admit it, you love going for walks with your girl; and you love to hold her hand during said walks. And it always makes you sad becuase in the winter time it's so hard to hold hands while you walk. And holding each other just slows you down a little bit (not that you mind)

To rectify that I present to you the smittens. The special kind of glove that lets you hold hands no matter how cold it gets. 25$ available online.

Speak To Your Soul

Originality takes on a new form. The quote really speaks for itself. Being new and original is being yourself, because no one has been you before and there will be no you after you. It's what the FPOE idea stands for, to just be your naturally fresh self. Be the uncompromising you.

You provide the world and all the life in it your own take, your own perspective so don't let others tell you you're just a carbon copy something or someone else.

The only way to be unoriginal is to be untrue to yourself.
The Emperors seat.

Most of you know I am on the executive council for a Campus UNICEF. My position on said council? Why I am the Emperor of course. I run this shit.
HAHA

This is the Fade Lounger from Skram, a nu-modern rendition of the barcalounger. It's a bold statement piece in any room and a definate style magnate. But at a mean price of 3500$ at least, but hey it's available in 3 different finishes.

WELCOME IN!

Hey guys welcome to the new blog....sorta.

Well the name change is now official, for those going to the old blog I just redirect you here. Actually this is the old blog with the new URL. The other one is a new blog with old URL. Funny how that works...makes me laugh. I am in the office right now before class and probably won't get too many updates in but at least the new URL is here.

Insight Summer 09

It's important to remember that when you look at a runway show or look books to not pay too much attention to the entire outfit. Runway fashion remains as runway fashion, you're supposed to take pieces that you like from it and make it work for you. Same goes for lookbooks, you don't have to replicate the entire outfit or the feel of it. The precedent are shots with pieces that I like, you can view the entire lookbook here.
