I tuned into the Barack Obama inauguration just like millions of other people this past Tuesday, however I came across something very interesting. Apparently the inauguration ceremony cost about 175 million tax paying dollars. Now I know the occasion is greatly momentus however how do you justify spending 175 million dollars when you're in what some economists call the worst economic crisis ever? Yes Obama does deserve a ceremony on par with the President-Elects of the past, but not when this kind of money could be used to help stimulate a now stagnant economy.
I think the world is too caught up in Obama fever to see things how they really are. He's supposed to rush in this big new thing called change, it's what his platform was built upon. But people are going to have to start holding him accountable for his action, not saying that the inauguration budget is his fault. But for change to really happen, we can't just blindly believe in someone and hope they pull through. He's supposed to be your voice America, if you don't let him speak for you he'll just speak for himself. That means he'll bring about change alright, change that you'll believe less and less in everyday.
I wish nothing but good luck and good tidings to 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama.
