An Artsy Kick-back to a Favourite Toy

Remember these? I remember scrounging around a toy box looking for a bunch of these film disks -- only to get bored of those 14 pictures. Even though you knew there wouldn't be anymore, your childhood hope kept you going around and around, pushing down the orange lever, so maybe, somehow you'd see something different (or in my case, hoping magically an image of a naked woman will pop up). Then eventually you get bored and switch it up or just pretend you're James Bond and your using some high tech binoculars. And for sure, at one point in my life -- I'd find one of these picture reels and spend a half an hour trying to find the view master because my curiosity would kill me wondering what is on those little plastic sheets.

Although I've never had the chance to peer into one of these toys in ages, or even seen one in front of me for just as long. I still felt this huge abundance of that nostalgic viewmaster curiosity when i came across a California based fashion boutique website. Bona Drag (literally means Nice Outfit in a secret UK based gay culture slang from the 60's) sells a variety of provocative, unique and interesting jewellery and flair (e.g. snake vertebrae necklace) and few select clothing pieces for women, but what caught me off guard the most was their Old-School 3D viewmaster with a collection of hand made 3D picture reels designed, written and photographed by an artist that goes by the name of Vladimir. All I could really say is... I really need to get my hands on one of these Vladmasters because it's killing me not knowing what the hell these lucky bastards are looking at.
**EDIT In the picture above, this was a showcase of Vladimir's work. Such a cool, inventive way for an art showcase, and it saves all the people from the fear in someone who has studied art their entire life to make them feel like shit because you could just say, "oh i'm on a different picture" or if you wanna be a real dick... walk away and "try to get more light" without answering hahaha
