A Broken Heart is No Joke

We've all suffered a broken heart in one way or another. Be it a bad break up or longning for that special someone. When people are lovesick you just want to strangle them. I've been down that road and in retrospect I would like to strangle myself; move the chokehold on my heart to my throat. But a broken Heart is no joke in more ways then you can imagine, real talk: Nobody likes the feeling yet we hold on to the pain like a bleeding vagina. And I don't mean that literally, please don't try to envision bleeding vag. It's more a way of me saying that we hold on to the pain with intense sensitivity. Like that pain is our pain and we can't share it with anyone, and no matter when anyone says they don't know what we're going through.

There are extreme cases, those who take a broken heart to medical levels; enter Takotsubo cardiomyopathy a condition also known as Broken Heart Syndrome. It's brought upon by great emotional stress. I won't go into too much detail but pretty much your heart swells and the pumping muscle weakens. If you survive the initial attack you should get better in about 2 months of treatment. It's hard to diagnose because it looks like so many other heart conditions and could easily be missed. So without proper diagnosis treatment may never occur. Without treatment you could die.

So long story short, A Broken Heart is No Joke
